CRITICAL INKING is a collaborative project designed to address the lack of a healthy “writer’s culture” in the Tumblr Writing Community. While there are tons of very talented, skilled writers, we feel that a lot of the time specific, constructive feedback and thoughtful comments are almost never involved in the reader-writer relationship. We aim to try and fix that by providing two things:

1. for ourselves, a place where we as writers can say, “hey! take a look at what I wrote, can you tell me what you think?” and receive feedback on it amongst ourselves—while sharing work along with those published thoughts with the community at large
2. a place where other writers can submit work to us, have it published and also critiqued in a constructive way, while receiving multiple viewpoints and approaches to their work

We’re not claiming to be English professors or knowing everything about writing, but we hope that a thoughtful, honest critique that aims to help everyone involved improve will be a useful service. We also have plans for other fun things, like unique writing contests, prompts, and the like.
